Professor Wagida Anwar is a distinguished leader in public health and currently serves as a Professor of Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University. With a career dedicated to advancing public health both in Egypt and internationally, she has made significant contributions to various fields, particularly in environmental health and scientific research.
Her expertise is recognized through her involvement in several prestigious committees and organizations, including the National Toxicology Committee at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the Health and Population Committee of the National Council for Women. Additionally, she holds leadership roles as the President of both the Egyptian and African Environmental Mutagenesis Societies, as well as the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Environmental Mutagen Societies. Professor Anwar also serves as President of the Specialized Federation of Scientific Research NGOs and the Specialized Federation of Health System Improvement NGOs, while contributing as Vice President of the General Federation of NGOs and Foundations. Through these roles, she has played a pivotal part in shaping policies and initiatives that improve healthcare systems, promote scientific advancements, and foster better environmental health.
